Q: Where can I find a manual to install a radio on a 2001 Kia Sephia?
I've looked on http://www.kiatechinfo.com/ and found lots of stuff... but not this. Thanks! (Or even a manual to remove the dash would be nice)
A: Metra is a company that makes radio mounting kits for most vehicles. All their mounting kits include instructions for vehicle dash disassembly, and all the instructions are available for download on their web site. Here's the one you're looking for:

Q: Problems with 2001 Kia Sephia...help!!!!!!?
2001 Kia Sephia. Thought I got water in my gas, used gas line antifreeze, along with a fresh tank of gas, no better. Goes great as long as giving it the gas, when I let off, hesitates quite badly, and sounds as if it needs to backfire. I smelled gas when I started it today, not bad, but faintly. Now, the gas smell is getting worse. The exhaust coming out is not study, more sputtering, and again the smell of gas. No rotten egg smell, or sulphur smell, but not convinced it's not the catalytic converter. When I'm driving, once in a while, I hear a little knock near the area under where my feet are. Desperate, please help!!!!
A: To misfire the engine has a problem with the spark, air, or gas in the cylinder. Since you smell gas i would guess it is not getting enough gas to cause the combustion to move your pistons. I believe you have a leak in your fuel lines. Only thing i can suggest is to check the lines from the tank to the engine to find the leak, and if you can find it take it in. best of luck.
Q: I have a 2001 Kia Sephia, any suggestions where the spark plugs are located or how to find out (for Free)?
A: under the hood usually located right on top you should see four black wires in a row.
CAREFULLY pull off the wires by holding near the large end and the spark plug is located under there.
most auto parts chain stores also will show you FOR FREE where they are located. Plus, they can also help you will less expensive parts for your car if you plan on servicing your own vehicle.
Q: Fuel problems with 2001 Kia Sephia?
Was missing, replaced fuel filter, wouldn't run at all, then replaced fuel pump. It now runs, with good pressure, but still has the same miss. Does this sound like it's still a fuel problem, or something else?
Replaced plugs & wires, and no lights on.
A: Misfires can be very hard to find. With out the engine light on, or history for misfire codes the struggle could be time consuming. The best place to start is a fuel injector fault. Best test to do is unplug each injector and see how the motor acts . If there is no difference, it might be internal engine failure
Q: 2001 Kia Sephia front bumper :(?
I recently had an accident in which the front right bumper was damaged. I went to the local repair shop and they cut some of the bumper off so I would be able to drive it. I was wondering what else I could do so the car looks decent. The whole front of the car is now lopsided and I want to know on average how much it will cost to have the car not be lopsided any more and if I should get a new bumper. Kia's suck!
A: Will run you about 140- 230 + install
Q: WHAT COULD be wrong with my car. when vent is on all you smell is exhaust. bad 2001 kia sephia?
A: Leaking exhaust. There's a very good chance it could kill you. Don't drive until you fix it.
Q: My 2001 kia sephia will not start. It won't even crank over. Battery just charged. Could it be tranny?
I recently had my sephia diagnosed with a transmission problem but I was having no problems with the transmission, so I ignored the check engine light. I stopped at a red light and when I started to go, my tranny clunked, but transitioned into 2nd gear just fine and into third too. The next light that I started to take off from, the transmission clunked big time and the lights went very dim (I was thinking alternator, but belts not broken). The next morning, I started my car for 10 minutes before it died. When I went out to my car, the heater was still on, but so were all the dash lights. I turned the heat off, tried to start my car, but it went rrr, rrr, rrr very slowly and wouldn't start. I then tried to start my car again and it wouldn't even crank, there was nothing. I recharged my battery cause it was dead, but my car still will not crank. Could this be my tranny?, or my alternator, or both? Please help
A: It is possible that even though you charged the battery, that it isn't any good. Take it out, and have it "Load Tested". That will tell you for sure if the battery is OK.
I am inclined to think the battery is the problem!
Q: i have a 2001 kia sephia.the o/d lite came on. when i push the o/d botton on the shifter,nothing happns.?
the "check engine" lite came on @ or about the same time.could it be fuse? i wanna try everything i can b-4 taking it to a shop
A: Good luck with the check engine light. I have my mother's old kia and it's done the same thing since she bought it brand new several years ago. It's been in and out of the shop for that at least 10 times and they can't figure out why it happens (also for broken window parts, etc.)...
She bought another brand new kia this year figuring that all of the problems with her old one just meant that she had a lemon but the "funny" thing is, it's all happening again!
Q: Where is the AIT (Intake Air Temp) sensor in the Kia Sephia 2001?
A: somewhere on the air inlet tubing or the airbox
Q: Please help, Questions regarding my 2001 Kia Sephia?
My car has been acting up for a few months now and my battery keeps draining. We found out the terminal connection was poor and was causing the battery to corrode and drain. So we had the alternator tested, it's fine.
The car died the other day and we thought it was the battery connection again. Brushed off the corrosion and headed to the shop. But the car made a REALLY crazy noise that led us to believe it was the transmission.
Well it's at the dealership now, and they say it's my axles. That my axle was fixed at another place and because the screws don't fit exactly, they work temporarily and then screw up the car over time. Now Firestone fixed my car for this exactly a year ago. Obviously, Kia won't cover anything if someone else touched it and won't cover it anyways (unless I start raising hell)
So am I stuck with having to pay the $1600 to repair all of this? Or can I make someone responsible for this or a partial?
I have a 10 yr warranty on my Kia. But again, if it was touched elsewhere, they won't cover it. (But can't they cover one side since only one side was repaired??) And Firestone is obviously going to dodge this in any way.
So I'm screwed right??
Any advice is appreciated!
It's not just axles. It was axles, hub assemblies, bearings, seals, etc. And Firestone did the work on my right, front axle almost exactly a year ago.
In my research it appears I'm paying more for labor than I am for parts.
However, Kia is waiting on a call back from me.
Next question, is it worth the repair if I do end up having to pay? Being 2001 with almost 88K miles on it? However, we don't have money for another car. But would it be smart (or not) to use the possible repair money to buy another used car? I know that can be dangerous though....
Ughhh, why can't I just win the lotto and be done with this crap!
A: kia's suck i have a kia and it sucks
Q: Another issue with my 2001 Kia Sephia....please look?!?!?
As long as you were going, not so bad, but when you had to slow down and then accelerate again, or first take off, it missed and chugged pretty badly. Thought we got water in gas, used gas line antifreeze, and new tank of gas, no fix. Put in new fuel filter, and now it won't start at all. It will turn over, but won't start. When it was running, once in a while I would hear a thud kind of noise somewhere near under the drivers side floor board. Please help. Also wondering if anyone knew what the fuel pressure was suppose to run? Thanks.
A: It's your Fuel pressure regulator or your Fuel pump there is nothing else. and also use injector clener it will help 100% on your start up. use it when the tank is empty put 2 of those and drive 30 mile in free way it will help a lot and also chenge your fule pump or your fule presure regulator. the fule presure has to be around 40 to 50 psi in some cars 30 to 60. but it should not be lower then 30
Q: How hard is it to install a thermostat on a 2001 Sephia Kia?
A: Inspect your radiator. There should be 2 hoses connected to it. The intake hose is on top and the exit hose on the bottom. Trace the exit goes going back to the engine. The metal tube that the hose connects to should be the thermostat housing. Normally its held down by just 2 bolts. Remove the radiator hose (if you can, try to collect the coolant for recycling!) then slowly remove the housing. When you remove the housing, take note of the orientation of the thermostat. Remove thermostat and replace based on the same orientation. To prevent leakage, you can smear a thin amount of high temperature silicone sealant on the edges of the housing. then replace all bolts and hoses properly. Be sure to top up the radiator before running the engine and check for leaks.
Q: Kia Sephia wont Start sometimes?
I have a 2001 Kia Sephia, And We are having a few problems with it the 2 that really concern me are (1) I will have tuned my car on and it will start to Idle Higher and higher, and if I shift it into revierse it JERKS! The (2nd) Is sometimes when I turn my car off like today and go inside after i have put gas in (or anything) And then come back to turn it on it will NOT turn on, The battery is not dead cause the sterion is on and everything but it wont even try to turn itself over (I turn the key and NOTHING happens) What do you think is wrong or recommend to do. I can fix things myself on my car as long as i know the problem.....Anyone who can help please give me an idea of what could be wrong.... Also I prefer not to take it to a shop cause it can get pritty pricey I know this cause my dad is a tow truck driver. Thanks for any advise
I had orgally baught it from a guy and it had been fixed from a previous car accident and it would take a couple trys to start sometimes, but would always start. Also It was involved in a car accident a year ago a plow truck driver had hit the side of me and peeled away the drivers side of my car, We just had it fixed (body dammage) about 1 month back and about 2 weeks after it started to do all this, And if i let it sit about 5 mins it will start again, I know it isn't the batterie cause it is brand new. Hope this helps in giving me answers. Thanks
actual milage is 26,5?? not allot baught it at 7,866 miles
A: first, that car may be under warranty. call your local dealer with vin(on the drivers door jamb) and mileage to find out.
Sounds like the tranny is having some trouble, from the reverse jerk. If the idling comes back to normal before too long(30 secs) you are probably OK. Otherwise, check on a throttle control sensor.
for #2, sounds like ignition switch trouble. Otherwise, you'd at least hear your starter grinding at it.
Q: 2001 Kia Sportage, Please Help?
How many miles are too many miles for a 2001 Kia Sephia? Is a Kia a good car?
A: It looks like you're in the market for a vehicle based on your last two questions. I think you need to determine what your needs are (do you need good mileage or do you need an SUV or do you need a 4 door etc), and then from there decide how much you want to spend.
10000-15000 miles per year would be reasonable for most vehicles so that means a 2001 model year would be between 70000-105000 miles.
You need to go to edmunds.com or kelly blue book to figure out what reasonable values are though - it varies a lot from model to model and depending on mileage etc.
